This week for my 20% project week two I learned how to crochet and made a coaster. For Christmas one year my grandma gave me a bunch of yarns because I was learning to knit but they also worked for crocheting. I watched some videos and crocheted a little square and realized it looked like a coaster and could be used as one. Some successes I had was that I finished making the coaster and it works! My cousin is also learning to crochet from my grandma so I gave her the coaster and she made me one too. Some failures I had was that it took a while to get a hang of it and . An adjustment I had to make was that I had to finish it at home because I couldn’t finish it in class. I left of with a finished coaster and next week I will start a whole new project.

For my 20% project week three I started to make a turtle. I used the Woobles kit to make the turtle and it came with everything I needed. It comes with all the colors of yarn you will need, eyes for the turtle, and it has a QR code for videos you can watch and follow along to make the turtle. Some successes that I had was that a got half way done with the head and I am starting to get the hang of crocheting. Some failures that I had was that I halfway through I realized that I was doing it wrong so I had to take it apart and restart. Some adjustments I had to make was getting a different crochet hook because the hook I had before was too big for the yarn but luckily I had more sizes. I left off at half when I was Alf way through the turtles head and next week I will hopefully finish the head and start on the body.

This is the first week of my 20% project and I am working on crocheting dog toys for animals in an animal shelter and my mentor is my mom. At first I wanted to work on crocheting stuffed animals for kids in hospitals but when we called the hospital they said that all donated toys hade to be brand new. Then I started looking up what kind of toys I could make for animals and I found a few good options I am going to be making. I will be crocheting a dog bone a stuffed dog and another type of dog bone. Monday I will go get supplies for crocheting and make a list of everything I will need so that it is a quick trip to hobby lobby. And a few successes I had was getting a plan and making a list for what to get at hobby lobby on Monday.

There are so many people who I would want to invite to dinner, but these are my top three: Zendaya, Billie Eilish, and Taylor Swift. Zendaya is an actress from many T.V. Shows and movies but I would invite her because she seems like such a good person and super friendly. I would love to be able to meet her and know more about her. Next I chose Billie Eilish, who is a singer, because she is very nice and likes kids, I would also like to know more about why she writes her songs and if she is making any more. The other person I would invite is Taylor Swift because she seems really nice and I would love to get to know her and maybe even find out one of her new songs. These are all the reasons why I would invite Zendaya, Billie Eilish, and Taylor

If I could have any job in the entire world, it would be an event planer. I would want to be an event planer because I really like to decorate! I enjoy decorating because when someone walks into a fun decorated room it makes them so surprised and happy. I would also want to be an event planer because I could plan weddings. Planning weddings seems fun to me because I love the way weddings look with one specific color and it seems like it would be pretty fun to find every thing in one color and set everything up beautifully. The last reason I would be an event planer is because of how happy it makes people. An example of how happy it can make someone is when I helped decorate and plan my cousins birthday party when they came down to go to Disneyland on her birthday and she was so happy and loved it so much and to see her face light up made me super happy too! These are all the reasons I would be an event planer!

The book I read in January was Blended by Sharon M. Draper. In the beginning of the book it was about a girl named Isabella is trying to figure out her life because she is mixed races and her parents are divorced. Her friend Imani finds a noose in her locker and is terrified. Both her parents are getting remarried and it causes a lot of stress on Isabella. She has a concert recital called Pianopalooza and works very hard. on the day of the recital non of her parents can take her so her almost-step-brother takes her. On their way they stop for ice cream and park in front of the bank. After ice cream they head back to the car but something horrible happens Isabella gets very hurt by something a cop does and ends up in the hospital. This tragedy brings her family’s together. One of the reasons I loved this book so much was because it shows that event though this are rough sometimes there’s a way to make it better (even if it does take a lot) but it also really shows you that the world can be brutal and you need to be careful and understanding. My favorite character is Isabella because she is so caring and sweet, an example of her being caring is, “Hang in there, Imani.” She says this when her friend Imani find a noose in her locker and is very scared Isabella comforts her and helps her feel better. Another quote in the story that showstopper she is caring and kind is, “We got your back kid” she also says this when Imani finds a noose in her locker and it just recently happened and she was extremely worried about her friend. The last evidence of her being caring is, “is… is Daren ok?” She says this when she is in the hospital it shows she is caring because as soon as she is able to get words out she asks if he is ok. My favorite quote is when she is in the hospital and her family’s are getting along with each other the doctor says,”Sometimes tragedies bring family’s together.” This is my favorite quote because it shows that even though something bad happens something good might come out of it to.

The possibilities are endless when you are invisible for twenty-four hours! The first thing I would do is go into my parents’s room and let them know I’m invisible so they don’t freak out. Then I would go into my sister’s room and scare her. My mom insists that I go the school so I get ready and get in the car luckily I have a giant invisible blanket to so I go get my friends and we go to the movies, get ice cream, bowling, and shopping. Technically we could steal but we leave money on the counter. It was such a fun day I just hope my parents font find out.

It’s another day in paradise on my abandoned island and it’s time to get to work. First off let me tell you how I ended up here. Me and all my family rented a cruise boat for a two weeks and one night as we were having dinner the boat stoped and we were on a pretty big island it was beautiful and there was a nice beach town with many people there was manny small little neighborhoods each with a few houses that were HUGE. everything was so nice and there were a few houses that they let us have. Everybody there was so nice and immediately welcomed us into their village. They told us that they went on a cruise and the same thing happened to them. They had found a way to get back to land but loved it here so made a town where they had everything they ever wanted. We loved it there but our home was in our town so every weekend we visit.

My weekend was packed with fun stuff, here’s what happened. On Friday after school my cousins, who live in Portland, Oregon and we don’t see often, came and visited for the weekend. It was my little cousin June’s birthday and we surprised her with a trip to Disney land. We go a lot, but she’s never been. It was so much fun and we all had a great time. It was also my aunts birthday so we celebrated both of them. Me and my sister decorated the whole house and it was such a fun weekend. I hope we see them soon!

“Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, when one only remembers to turn on the light.” This quote was said by Dumbledore from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban the movie. I think the meaning of this quotes is to show that happiness can be found anywhere as long as you try to find the good in something. This quote can relate to my life because when we went to Disney world it WBA’s humid and rainy everyday and not much fun, but as soon as we went on the rides we all cheered up because we saw that even though it wasn’t very comfortable we still were able to find fun. Those are my thoughts about this Dumbledore quote. What are yours?
